Re: Callaway Diabolo irons

As said earlier, I can't really see where these are going to fit into the line up.
You've got the X22's and 22 Tours, then the X forged for the better player/pro and then the X-prototype jobs that Ernie uses. Add to that the FTi-brids and the still available Big Berthas - ???????????

Diablo's are "Premium forged irons featuring contemporary design elements for the elite player".
Surely an "elite" player, if they're going to play Callaway would use Xforged or the X-prototype - wouldn't they?

I made exactly the same point. I can't see where these fit into their range. I don't think they look too bad although pictures can be deceiving. I thought the Diabolo woods looked ok until I saw them in the GM store supboard. With the cut at the back of the crown they just look strange.

But Titleist have the AP2s, ZBs and Zms, all used by pro's, TM have allosrts too, may be Cally have staff players who are after something different. Afterall, the Forged protos were only in the range after Ernie was payed a fortune to join up, and then said, ok, I play blades, what have you got?

Diablo, or Devil in another language. Well they are red, but tbqh Callaway really are trying too hard with this excursion & classy they ain't....!!!

There is really too much going on with the Logo's which should have been a lot more subdued. Not really sure what sort of player these irons are aimed at but they really are ugly from the back, though the pics from above & the playing face look better if a bit thick in the top line.

I think the Devil would have had more class than the Diablo irons are. I could see him going back to Georgia & having a word with his pro about getting something a bit more classy...

I'd have expected a bit more from Callaway.

Sorry to be so negative, but that's my opinion, no matter how well or baddly they feel or play.

Re: Callaway Diabolo irons

There is defo alot going on, on the back but they look like they will sit nice.

They would look good in my bag, but the price tag is definetly a bit strong.
