On the subject of putting with these and the Supersofts I believe it was at the same that the Chrome Sorts were launched that odessey launched their putter range with metal inserts and I think I'm right in saying Odessey are part of Callaway

Was just about to say this. I believe the ball was designed with their new putters in mind

Really ?!? That's gotta be a tenuous link. Can't imagine any company deciding to do such a thing on purpose.

Another Callaway ball that I find clicky and jumpy off the putter face but other than that they aren't bad

Used one for a few holes today after stuffing one into a farmers field.

Compared to usual NXT Tour S found Chrome Soft as follows;

Driver - No noticeable difference.
Long Irons - No noticeable difference.
Pitching - Didn't stop up as well.
Chipping - Dangerously springy off wedges. Not a good feature!
Putting - Jump off milled face a little but nothing untoward.

Will be sticking to the NXT's
