Ive played against guys with caddies before, I see it as the guy knows he needs help getting round, that makes it a string to my bow and Im one up before I even tee off.
Unless the two guys know eachothers games inside out, it will make the guy you are playing against think about two shots (what he thinks and what his caddy reckons, who is a far better golfer by the sounds of things). Indecision is a killer in golf, regardless, good luck.

A mate of mine has his son caddy for him occasionally. Now the son can putt. He is young, and fearless. If Dad asks for a line, the son can't help, as Dad drops putts in, and son whacks them in, so they would go 10 foot past if they missed. The lines are totally different.

Some times caddys are useless. I wouldn't worry, or get one of your own.

I assume this isn't the sort of match where 'game faces' will be on, and no one will talk? If it is, you should have a caddy for company.

Thx for comments guys. I wont get a caddie whatever, I dont need someone to control my leccie trolley, and I dont want the distraction tbh.

I dont think its gonna be too much of a serious affair, the lad sounds very sociable & pleasant, sure - its a final so we'll both be trying our hardest, but I dont think its gonna be 'unfriendly' to any extent.

Thinking about it, and knowing how playing with the +1 lad makes me concentrate, it might be good to have that edge too in the final, regardless of who's bag he's carrying !

I'm gonna hit the Practice ground a couple of times this week in preparation, and just take what comes, looking forward to it regardless.
