Burgular stabbed to death

If UK law dictates weapon equality, then someone needs to wake up the old fogies in the house of Lords and tell them the slap-on-the-face with a glove and pistols at dawn days ended 150 years ago.

IMO
Burgler: lead pipe in a sock. Me: baseball bat
Burgler: blade. Me: Dirty Harry sized magnum
Burgler: gun. Me: Big feckin bazooka, RPG, flame-thrower or Vivian's howitzer

There seems to be a lot of forum warriors on here, I wonder how many would actually stand up to a masked man in their house with possibly a gun? Is your telly really worth it, especially if you had kids to protect?

I think it's fairly easy to say you'd get laid in.

Personally, I'd let them take whatever the f*ck they wanted out of my house as long as they didn't go near my family.

If they were intending to rob me and harm my family then it's a different kettle of fish and you're into the "whatever's necessary" territory.

Not a warrior here. I've not hit anyone or been hit since I left primary school.

As above, I wouldn't take any risks to protect my possessions but my family is a different story.

Most burglars are druggies, and are seven stone wringing wet. If found, they are likely to cover their faces, and leave through the nearest exit. So says Watford soco. They don't want to get involved with any one, and are generally in and out in a couple of minutes.

If I had the chance would I *** one? Yes. Been turned over twice and am fed up with it. Chances are said tea leaf would be even smaller than me. Bring it on. I can be quite nasty.

dont see why there are so many thinking that america has taken the right stance. it allows property owners too much freedom on which situations can merit lethal force. there are several cases where an innocent person has stumbled onto the property by accident and have been blasted away by an over-eager owner as a result

What he said. The telly etc means nothing to me, but I'd happily jump in front of bullets and kill/be killed to save my family.

And if I did accidently stove a burglars face in and end his life, I doubt I'd have second thoughts over involving police anyway, probably throw the book at me.
