Just gone to load my stuff into the car as I'm playing this afternoon and my 9 iron is missing out of my bag...
Last time I played was Sunday at Highwoods, just rung the pro shop and nobody has handed one in.
Stupid thing is, I can't remember taking out of my bag on Sunday to use it around a green (usual scenerio for losing a club)......balls.
:D :D :D :D :D

When I see golfers taking a putter and an iron onto a green, it makes me cringe, so easy to leave a club behind. Not too bad in a club comp 'cos the next party normally hands it back. I hope the swine that picked it up and didn't hand it in gets his comeuppence!

Make sure none of your mates has taken it for a "wee joke"! I took my mates 7 iron out of his bag for a laugh (it was priceless at the time!) he was on his mobile to the pro shop and everything, raging and blaming his caddie who caddied for him in the Club Championship final two days previously.

When he finally spotted the offending MP60 iron in my bag he went mental! I thought he was gonna leather me at one stage. It was funny and he still grumps about it when reminded!

It may still be lying there waiting on some tripping over it.
Picked 1 up the other week in the long grass it had rusted so that give an idea of how long it had been there.
handed it in to the starter.
Hope you find yours soon, its abugger when you loose 1 of the set.

You have my sympathies. Lost a club last year.

My new solution is to place the club down nest to the flag, when the flag is lying on he fringe waiting for all to putt out.

Thanks for the replies lads. I think I rememeber where I left it now and if I get the chance I'll nip up the club later to have a look.....although if I'm right it's on the furthest part of the course away from the clubhouse...

I last used it out of a fairway bunker on our 6th and whilst I was raking said bunker we had to all move aside to allow a guy to play his shot across our fairway from another hole. Caused a bit of confusion and light hearted banter, and I must have forgotten that I had put my club down. It may still be there, but the other problem is that on that part of the course there is a public right of way and you get quite a few people out walking their dogs during the course of the day. If one of those has picked it up then I'm buggered I think....

I'm with rgs. Having lost a pitching wedge doing the same thing, I now place my club on the flag when it is removed.
That way either I or my patners pick it up.

Let us know if you find the club mate. Gutted for you if you don't, I know exactly how you feel!

Well, after three phone calls to the pro and a visit to the spot on the course where I know I left it, my 9 iron has vanished. Mike the pro says nothing has been handed in as yet, although he still feels that somebody could have put it in their bag meaning to return it, forgotten about it and maybe not visited the club since that day. Me? I think somebody walking the course with their dog has found it and is now using it as a threshing tool whilst they search for golf balls in the undergrowth. The spot where I left it is surrounded by closely mown grass, not semi-rough, so I know that it would have been picked up by now. Have been in touch with the guy that supplied my clubs who can order me a new one to match up (Nippon shaft and one degree flatter) and will only charge me trade plus £5.00 as a gesture of goodwill. Can't ask for more than that I suppose but it's still going to set me back about £80.00.
I'll be more vigilant in future....

Well great news (I think!)...

Got a text message from my mate at work yesterday to say that Highwoods had rung to let me know that a Mizuno 9 iron had been handed in over the week-end.
Hopefully it's mine and it's not damaged in any way.
Fingers crossed

That could be great news Smiffy , after all this time too. Matbe the guy found it and forgot about it til he played again and saw it in his bag...fingers crossed

Apparantly, the guy that found it flew out to the States the following day. He gets back today and is taking it up to the club tomorrow.
I owe him a pint
;)
