Insane. How the heck does he keep the backspin down?

I think I remember reading he hits up on the ball at around 5-7°.

Probably a lower lofted driver than 99% on here and a higher launch angle than 90%.

As for the distance.. just WOW!
Just thinking about being able to hit the ball that far off the tee on the holes on my course I reckon I would win the comp tomorrow.

A certain forumer I played with at the weekend has had his ball speed measured in excess of 180. (no it was not Aztecs !:))

Can someone explain how launch angle is worked out?

It is club loft plus/minus the amount you hit up/down?

I.E 8 degree driver & hitting up 7.4 degrees= 15.4 Launch angle?
So if you hit down on a driver you'd get 12* driver loft minus hitting down 3 degrees you'd have a launch angle of 9 degrees?

Does that even make sense? :S

I'm going to do one of these session in July, if I can get to within 100 yards of that I will be happy (assuming it is straight!).
I was given some numbers at my local AG but my pro thinks the numbers are not at all representative of my actual results (and Golfshot GPS agrees with him).

Still it will be good to get some benchmarking and then see if things have changed in a years time.

Yeh you're sort of right, it's the loft you have on the face at the moment of impact (dynamic loft) not what's written on the club, angle of attack and centeredness of strike.
