I'm just standing up for my home course, a course i love. I'm sure you would do the same for your club, where do you play by the way?

No idea why the prices are on there, the AGM is not till 10th Dec and nothing is set until the members agree it. They tried to put the fee up a couple of years ago to £115 and that was scrapped.

As for the PM, feel free to search though the old treads when the orig review was done all that i put in there where raised at the time.

Huge difference between sticking up for your course and blindly going on the offensive. I said Nairn was nice yet you hit back like a child with lies about how I have a bee in my bonnet? For a links track I prefer dunes, mounds, punch bowls etc. that is my preference. Nairn is relatively flat with two very poor inland holes which are totally out of character with the other 16. That is my opinion pal, I don't claim be be right, just my opinion. As for good holes the 4th (I think, early par 3) was a lovely hole, good green, bunkers and beautiful location. The hole before you go up and down those two inland holes is also a good golf hole.

Therefore I can see good and bad in all courses I play, still rate Dornoch much higher and had more fun at Tain but hey, its all about opinions.

Tralee is something else, for sure, but so is nearly every links on the south west and west coast.

As for the Atlantic Coast Challenge - I've played it every year and don't play it as a competition. I have a mate who comes back from New York for it and we just use it as a few days of golfing away. There's a great buzz around the hotels and bars too. The slow rounds are the the only downside.
Cheers for that Kevin , we loved Sligo this year we played Narin and Donegal as well which were superb, Narin is in my top 5 played. We used to play in the Causeway Coast comp and that was 5.5 to 6 hour rounds and that was early morning. Could be worth a shout tho, my brother in law wants to play Tralee hence going that far down

saying some one has a bee in their bonnet is hardly an attack, but what you have posted clearly is and i notice you still havn't answered where you play.

Haggs Castle. Only course in Glasgow which has hosted the Scottish Open. Its decent. Not as good a track as Nairn, gets very wet in the winter but is usually in excellent condition in the summer. Its easy enough access for me but I hope to get into Glasgow Gailes, got a few mates and contacts there now. Application is in.

Hope your curiosity is now satisfied.

Don't know it, only ever played two courses in Glasgow, one was wullies place which i can even remember the name of and Killermont.

We had a forum meet at Glasgow Gailes at the start of this year..... played the some of the worst conditions Ive ever experienced. keep meaning to play it again when I go down to Western, but never get around to it. maybe next year

Thanks for the great photos Kevin.

Reminded me of some good memories from last summer.

I had the pleasure of playing Dornock, Tain ,Golspie and Brora

Whilst Royal Dornock was the best all of them were good courses and great fun to play, I especially liked playing Tain a real gem.

Hi Kevin, another set of beautiful photographs thank you.

I played Tain, Dornoch and Golspie along with Boat on the way home in September, loved it. My plan is to head to Brora next year with Dornoch and a few others as well. Its an area I'm smitten by now.

We had a couple of beers and then went for an Indian with a couple of Americans we bumped into in Dornoch. They were just back from Brora and raved about it. They said it was better than Nairn and Moray Old. I haven't played Brora so what are your thoughts? Greens were tremendous at Brora according to the two gents.

Don't know if you are awhere of what I think is called the Dornoch pass where you get to play the second course at Dornock,Tain , Golspie , and Brora on reduced green fees, something I used this summer.

If your planing a trip next year might be useful.

Cheers for posting the pics.

I played the course after the big forum meet up there last year.

The clubhouse welcome and food was very good.

Greens were good but I wasn't blown away with the course like I thought I would be.

it used to be called the Dornoch firth pass, which got you 20% off the green fee, bit it cost to buy it, no idea what it costs now was about £10 but that could be well out of date now.

got you money off;
Royal Dornoch
Dornoch Struie
Tain
Brora
Golspie
Tarbat
Bonar Bridge

well worth it if you were going to play them all
