I see that the fine British tennis star Andy Murray is 2 sets to one up at the moment in his semi final

Keep it going Andy!

Oh how long I wonder before its back to Scottish tennis player loses semi final

How long? If he loses (I hope he doesn't), then approx 5 seconds after he loses ;)

EDIT: That 3rd set loss by Novak must have lit a fire under him as he won the 1st 4 games in the 4th set! Andy has just held serve to bring it to 4-1.

He'll br British as long as he is still playing in a tournament.

If he goes out he's back to being Scottish.

I am rooting for Djokovic. Can't abide Murray or his ginger Mum.

He is Scottish, and will remain so, win or lose.

I don't like him, but then I have no great feelings about Jocko either.

I wanted Feds to win, but it is too late for that. I'm left with Nadal pulling his shorts out of his bottom every 3 seconds, Moaning miserable Murray, or dull Jocko.

Yep. Fair effort though. Thought he'd bottled it right at the end but managed to pull it back to 5-5 and was in for a chance at serving for the match having been 4-1 down in the final set at one point.

A great match; Djokovic is a supreme tennis player and Murray did well to run him close.

Andy may not have made this final but with Lendl coaching him he's bound to win a slam one day. Quite why the English dislike him so much is sad; perhaps they are too busy supporting all their great tennis players such as ... er... the world #161 James Ward.

Murray is one of the "big four" because believe it or not he is one of the most consistent mens tennis players in the world,so based on ranking points he's number four in the world. The "hasn't won a grand slam" argument is pretty weak to be honest.Would you also suggest Luke Donald isn't the best golfer in the world because he hasn't won a Major ?

Not sure Lendl will make that much of a difference. I have lost count how many coaches he has been through more than National Express I think!!! And at the end of the day he has still not won a slam and he is not getting any younger either so I don't think he will win a slam either. Good but not good enough

It may just be that he said "I'll be supporting anyone but England" about our football team and then decided it was a joke!

Chris

Might have something to do with it yes;) He knew exactly what he was saying, and it was meant, then when he realised what he said he played it off as a joke. Is there any wonder he has lost support south of the border totally brainless comment if you ask me. Can you imagine if an English sportsperson had said that and then went up to play a tournament up in Scotland the reception would get would be awful.

Unfortunately I think Murray is going to suffer from a similar curse to Tim Henman in that he is playing when there are exceptional players around. Whereas Henman had to compete against Sampras and Agassi in their prime, Murray is playing in the era of the greatest player of all time - Federer - another who will be ranked amongst the all-time greats - Nadal - and a guy who is in the form of his life - Djokovich.

Murray's game is certainly good enough to win a slam - he has beaten Federer, Nadal and Djokovich a fair few times afterall - but he just needs a little bit of luck to go his way. It's sad that people slag him off - he's the best tennis player Britain has had so get behind him!
