Can you explain why Scottish kids being run over in the morning is any different to English kids being run over in the eveniing?

Why can't we wait until November to change the clocks and then change them back in March.

Putting the clocks forward in winter is like a big dose of misery landing on everyone, if the weather isn't making you miserable enough the evening suddenly going dark is sure to, I'm sure leaving it alone would save a fortune in antidepressants.
