British masters, anyone going.

does anyone else thing that its really poor form that Poulter and Rose (injured or not) are not there supporting the event? Poulter has no excuse as he is playing this week, Rose has pulled out 2 years in a row, but could at least have flown in and done some stuff.
Fully agree with this. Disgraceful. Rory should also be made to play. Support the British masters really make it a class tournament again.

plus come on easy event to fit in surely. Rory would have smashed that course today

Good day out that was, got bitterly cold towards the end sitting in 18th grandstand.

Got my tickets from a member here so big thanks!

Great day out, after a nightmare journey to get to the parking - must have taken almost an hour from J19 of the M25 to get to the car park

I do agree with the comments on it being poor form for the European stars not to support this tournament but I always thought the reluctance of players like Garcia, Kaymer to play was the tax consequences for their worldwide income (and not just prize money for the tournament) when they played in the U.K. I would imagine there are similar issues for the US based Brits

Hour to get from Luton to Grove thanks to our smart motorways, another 15 mins walk. Froze me guts off. But saw a bit of excellent golf.
Another hour to get from Grove to Luton goin home. Seems to me these " nice " courses get these tournaments cos there nice, but have no infrastructure whatsoever to support thousands turning up.
For those goin over the weekend, set off early and take plenty of snap and drink with you coz £6 for a grisel burger is " pants down catering".
Oh ah and wrap up warm.

BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEFFFFFFFF.

Rory should be made to play? wtf? on what basis?

To raise the profile of the tournament. if he hosted one for example or just attended imagine the following they could get.

Faldo and seve used to play it why is it beneath rory?

Do you mean just like he has hosted the Irish Open recently

The ET isn't the same Tour as when Seve and Faldo played

The PGA is the main tour and that's where they play mainly now

I doubt very much he has that attitude towards the comp, these guys live out of a suitcase for long periods and will look at the calendar of fixtures and see where they can take a real break to be with family and have some down time, yes they have a millionaire lifestyle but there not machines, sometimes less is more also at some events, would you like to be 20ft deep in people with your kids trudging around The Grove in the freezing cold trying to get a sneak peak at Rory or be more comfortable watching various groups of top Pro's with a great deal more of comfort, you sound like you'd prefer it to become like a TW circus syndrome, no thanks!

What time did you get there? I'm going on Sunday but would rather turn up later and avoid the traffic than get there for the start an queue forever..

i dont think anyone should be made to play in the event, but if you're going to come out and say you are one of the 4 'hosting' the event, all 4 of you should be supporting the event for the 4 year period.

About 10.00 ish, flippin Eck the wind chill was 😳 Mind I had just got back from Portugal at 02.00 that morning so I was not climatised. As I saw it the M25 filtered into two lanes, then one country lane with traffic coming from both ends to get you into one or two entrances ( car parks 3 and 4) into the fields. I would be getting there sooner rather than later. 👍

I got to the J19 M25 exit around 830am and it took another 45-60 mins to slowly move towards to car park 3/4. All in all it took me 2 hours 20 minutes to get there from SW London. Going home, I left around 330pm and it took only 1 hour.

I think it will be chaos at the weekend - might be worth trying to get there around 730/800am!

PS Bring your own food, as the food options are poor and expensive!

Got the train to Watford Junction.

There are shuttle buses running from the station to the course which we got on for free on the way back.

We walked to the course and it took 30 minutes in the morning.

Properly looking forward to going tomorrow. Leaving the saff coast at half 7. Will probably encounter some traffic but hey ho, we'll have a cracking day nonetheless!

Will be packing my bag with plenty of tucker, not a fan of sweaty burgers and nasty chips.

Anyone know how much programs are?

Burgers and fries where very nice! Although eye watering expensive for what they are.
Pack plenty of drinks. £2.20 for a bottle of water! Making £1.50+ on a bottle of water takes the piss a bit

£5 or £1 for the draw sheet

£5 or £1 for the draw sheet

A rip off is the answer

last year when we arrived I swear for free you got a map and a draw sheet.. didnt pay this time.. took a photo of the map at the side and just referred to that and the draw sheet printed off before we arrived

echo the thought on food.. £5.30 for a bacon roll for breaky... £9.90 for a bacon cheese burger and chips for lunch.. JESUS

mark up is a rip off

the tour shop was VERY poor imo.. not many brands to pick between.. the grove stuff is costly and then there were things like titliest hats.. I thought cool ill get one it will have "the british masters" on there somewhere.. nope just a plain hat? erm ill order offline for half the cost then
