breaking 90!

Played Waterstock a couple of times years ago. I remember the last - par 5? - one of our group, a good but short hitting 7 handicapper played 3 drivers and a wedge to reach the green right into the teeth of a gale. I think I hit driver, 3 wood, 5 wood and only just made it. Was a bit open and bare back then. has it improved?

Thats the 17th. It has matured well so I'm told, that was only the 4th time I've played there and the only time I've played all 18 holes. It's in quite good nick, a bit wet in places but the greens for this time of year and the weather we've had are smashing!
It's not that open now, tbh I thought a fair few of the holes were pretty tight. I'm sure its a lot better in the summer but for a round in february I was happy with it.

Try to play different courses, Waterstock is local to me. Live in Chinnor, or go up to Wycombe Heights, Bird Hills, Blue Mountain, farnham Park.

Yeah we should try and get out havn't been out this year yet.

I know chinnor, grandparents used to live there. I haven't played any of the courses you listed but would be well up for it. I might be playing at weston turville in a couple of weeks if you fancy it? It's near wendover and I go through chinnor to get there.

Ademac, It doesn't matter what anyone else can shoot, it's all about your best not someones elses, anyway 88's a great score, keep playing and stay confident and you'll soon be chasing 80.

Well done fella

Well done thats the 1st big breakthrough.

When i was going through that phase I always kept track of what i was to level 5s,obviously level 5s is 90 gross so was always trying to be at least 1 better than 5s.

If you treat every hole as a par 5 and keep track of what you are to par it is a really good way to keep track of how you are doing to break 90,a 4 on a par 4 feels good because its a birdie and a 3 on a par3 feels really great because its an eagle.

Well done again, onwards and upwards, errr i mean downwards, err well you know what i mean.
