Hello all'

I finally broke 90 today! I shot an 88 on a par 72 course, previous best 91 on a par 69.
I'm chuffed to bits and feel like its coming along nicely, lessons are paying off and just feel more confident stood over the ball. I think the better weather has helped also as I'm not playing with thermals and a coat on!
I'm really looking forward to the next couple of months, what with more lessons coming up, then I can't wait 'til april to start my first ever full golfing season! Bring it on!

I know that 88 isn't that great to some of you lot but I'm made up! :D

Well done ademac keep up the hard work and try not to let a bad round knock you back pal.

Ademac, dont you believe it. 88 IS a good score. Just ask Homer. Since we've all changed his swing, I'd be surprised if he's broken 90 yet ;)
Keep at it and enjoy the journey

Homer is venturing out on Saturday for the first time since my online swing changes so I'll let you know if I can even hit the ball.

I saw ademac play the other week in very wet conditions and he won the front 9 with something like 19 points so the potential is definitely there. The putting was a bit ropey but we can put that down to the worst greens I've come across in a long time. I think he could be a dark horse at RA

Congrats for breaking 90 mate,I am still trying to do this. It seems as though lessons and practice pay off.

Well done.

Midnight...

Thanks, I take this a big compliment Homer!
My putting wasn't great today to be fair! There were 4/5 sitters from about 4 feet that I really should have put away!

Good stuff mate, you getting the weight onto the left foot yet? You were leaning back on you swing and stopping / slowing down before impact last time we played.

Don't know why im giving advice because your in much better form than me.

Get down to my gaff for a round!

All advice is welcome here mate! Yeah I've been trying not to lean back as much and be more comitted in the shot, It seems as though I was bottling it a bit and not completing a full swing. Had a couple of lessons with my coach and he's instilled a bit of confidence in me, it seems to be working!
I'd love to come down on the 28th but I'm busy(see arrange a game section)
Might be up for arranging something before that though?

That's what I mean mate, just PM me whenever you get a Fri, Sat, Sun and come down. Open offer forum........

The only flaw I saw at Downshire was off the tee with the ball position a touch too far forward but as you were hitting ok albeit with a fade/slice and seemed to plot your way round ok it seemed best to leave you to it.

It might be worth just putting a club down just inside your left heel and lining the ball up opposite it down the range and hitting a few drivers. I think it will reduce your left to right a bit. Other than that I think you are on the right lines

You know, very few players break 90. OK, so keen club players and forum members here do, but don't go thinking it's not a great effort!!!

I know it's all relevant to your expectation, but under "level-5s" is going in the right direction.

WELL DONE...

Ok mate, I'll check the diary tomorrow and I'll hopefully be able to sort it out for a weekend in the very near future!

88 is good, it’s all relevant to each one’s ability and HC. Well done.

Good golf there ademac, you should feel good about it. Do it again a few times and you will be wondering what all the fuss was about :D

yeah i've played there 3 times, nice course. Can't get the knack of the Par 5 with the dog leg to the left.

The 4th, I put my second shot into the stream that disects the fairway, via a tree! Then dropped my third played my fourth onto the green and two putted for a bogey six, I was happy with that considering I had a wet ball! Quite a nice hole IMO.
Where do you play mattdeeks? We should arrange a game.

Played Waterstock a couple of times years ago. I remember the last - par 5? - one of our group, a good but short hitting 7 handicapper played 3 drivers and a wedge to reach the green right into the teeth of a gale. I think I hit driver, 3 wood, 5 wood and only just made it. Was a bit open and bare back then. has it improved?
