Read John Richardson's Dream On pretty much in one sitting and recommend it to any one - especially if you have a long flight.

Have now signed up to his regular emails which i really enjoy receiving.

Question is has any one paid for the break par blue print that he has put together?

Thanks

The premise as the intro shows is that John hit tens of thousands of balls, read dozens of books, watched hours of videos and along with lessons tried every gadget and club under the sun almost to the point of madness (whilst in a full time job and married with children) all to try and go from shooting a round of 100 + to level Par in 12 months.

From what i can make out the blue print (for a small fee) gives a summary of the best bits of every thing he learned, what it contains don't know but it does offer you your money back if it doesn't work!

Got the book.
A very good and inspirational read. Just goes to show that anything is possible.

He did dedicate his life to the game however. Good job he had a very understanding wife and small child. HID would have kicked me out within the 1st month if I'd dedicated as much time to the game as he did!!!

I've seen an interview with him on the BBC website (I think he is in Ireland) and he seems to talk a lot of sense, but surely all the magazines, and people in the golf game can not be wrong when they say that the best way to improve is to go and see a PGA PRO!
Then again I guess that this guy may be able to relate more to us than a PGA PRO?

I read the book and I seem to remember that he had lessons with a pro. Its a great book and recommend it to anyone. I think a mate of the author ran the idea past Sam Torrance and asked him whether he thought it was possible and he repled "dream on" hence the title.

He certainly did utilise a pro.

A young lady if memory serves. He also made many references to the late, great Seve. He had mental pictures of him watching his progress, imagining him berating him with that old Spanish accent.

Like I said, a great read. Excellent subject with bits of humour thrown in for good measure.

I read the book and thought it was agood read. When he was young he played off 14 and is also capable of hitting his drives 300 yards so had a good start.

I went on his website and managed to download all the documents for free :-)

Is that all true? That kinda makes his achievement not that impressive doesnt it?

I mean, you cant take it away from the guy, shooting level par is obviously a great achievement for a golfer, but calling himself a hundred shooter is kinda misleading...

Just found this comment in an interview:

GOLF365: Is that 70 still your best round?

JR: Comfortably so although I shot a round of four over about two years afterwards but I didn't play much after finishing the challenge.

Sounds as if the level par round was a one-off. It's probably a case that anyone who plays a lot of golf will eventually hit a lucky round when everything goes right. Making it consistent is the key. Just lost a load of respect for this.

not really Tim, after doing that for a year I have no doubt he is probably sick of golf to an extent and probably just plays for pleasure now and again. to maintain a high standard in anything requires a lot of time and effort hency why I am ok at most things but not great as I am a lazy git :)
