Going to nip up to the course shortly for a few holes.

It's bloody windy today!

Already been plotting my way round the course in my head and considering the shots where the wind will come into play. Unfortunately, the 1st on my course is generally played straight into the wind which does wonders for your 1st tee confidence!
The front 9 can be seriously influenced by the weather conditions as they are on the higher, more exposed parts of the course.

Do the weather conditions have any relevance to the way you plan your round either before or during your round?

the first 11 holes at my gaffe are normally into the wind and play really difficult :( if you can get to the 16th tee and be level weith your handicap you are doing well most days. Just kinda get used to the wind living on the west coast of Ireland

I don't mind a wind sweeping across the course, but wind behind or hitting into the wind cheeses me off.

Wind behind, I find it really hard not opening the shoulders off the tee and taking the casing off the ball. Usually resulting in me putting another ball on the peg and playing 3 from the tee.

Went out for a practice this morning and the wind is blowing a gale. 7 Irons flying 190 through the air with the wind behind me obviously. Then the wind changed to a left to right gust and it was actually blowing forwards during the backswing with interesting results!! Best of luck to anyone out there today as you'll need it I reckon.

i was planning on heading up at 1pm but it's a bit wild to say the least here.during the night the gusts of wind were bad, seems to have continued into today.

Played first thing this morning and the wind certainly played it's part. Played to handicap and all in all a good consistent round, apart from one blow up hole which I'm blaming on an un-raked bunker. Grrrr!! Didn't change tactics too much, other than clubbing up / down where necessary. Whilst I don't mind playing in the wind, it's not nice when it's showery. Must've changed tops 4 or 5 times, being too warm, too cold or wanting waterproofs on. Must've looked like my bag contained a full wardrobe :D

Played earlier and it was a nightmare. I had to use a 5 wood for a 175 yd par 3 which is normally a 5 iron. Still had a reasonable round though :D

Our 17th was playing straight into the wind so I asolutely nailed a 4 iron................. 120 yards

Still had almost a full sandwedge for my second and its a par 3 :mmm:

Mental.

Played today and the last 2 holes were back to back par 5's with only a few yards difference between them. On in 2 on one and on in 5 on the other.

Wind makes a big difference.

I enjoyed ours today, windy as hell but brilliant, drove straight into the teeth of the wind well, long irons were well used today too, chipping god awful for a change but putted well for 1 over net, looking forward to tomorrow.

Our 17th was playing straight into the wind so I asolutely nailed a 4 iron................. 120 yards

I remember playing at Narin and Portnoo last year and it was crazy, like that an absolutely flushed 4 iron managed 110 yards although I did drive a 355 yard par 4 with a three wood when I turned round

The wind was all over the place down here today. Seemed to be coming at us from all directions. On the 18th it was helping from the tee and blowing into and off the right going into the green. Very very strange given the hole is practically straight

Shot 4 under my handicap today. Struggled up the 15th though. 490 yards into the wind uphill, took me 5 shots to rach the green!
