Last night went out after the rain with the mp52s and a new pro v. Had a great time just splatting it in on the pin, I love golf like this, lets you know that you can hit the target. So thought I thought I would go out this afternoon / tonight and use my Pings and a pro v . The course is on chalk so drains well, they water the fringes and not the greens .
Anyway just went out there and hit well with the irons, but the ball was dropping and spinning every where, I could chip on to the green and nip it and it would check up. I have not had this for years, especially with the Pings, I was looking at threads on shafts etc the mp52s have PX 5.5s and the Pings have AWT stiffs. But all of the club stuff is redundant info, I could have just been striking the ball really well. I will go out again tomorrow as we have another dry day, and will see if the greens will take it. If so I will adjust my golf game accordingly, I am so hoping I have found a ball that does what I want and stops when I want it to, I hate hit and hope golf!

My first round for a couple of weeks today and I began with a ProV
After 3 holes they were back in the bag to be replaced by NXT Tour type balls
I was getting silly backspin - our 2nd hole (par 3 of 130 yards was playing 120 today
Took a PW and pitched it next to the flag that was in the middle of the green

My next shot was a chip from the front!!!!!

Usually I don't spin the ball much.

My stock response from the ball when hitting into a receptive green it a bounce or two then checking up.

I hit a gap wedge into our 6th at the weekend, into a pin that was not far from the front of the green. Pitched 2 feet on and span off, through the fringed and finished a foot back of that.

4ft all told

Although it was nice, I would much rather my predictable one or two bounce and check than an unpredictable amount of back spin on shots into greens.

That'll be 3 years next Wednesday then.........

Into August, the more typical British summer is here so they may stay softish right through to next year now.
Depends on whether we get another hot spell....

I struggle to get any spin from my shots. I use a Prov1 as well. I played a few holes last night and a bloke 14 hdcp (im 12) gets spin and I don't. I don't know how to do it really. Whats the basic technique?
