Bleedin Heat

I went into a Greggs at lunchtime. They were baking in there.

I'll get my sun cream.

34*C pfft. That's a bit on the cool side. We've just been up in the Sierra Nevada mountains for lunch, as its a bit cooler than the 39*C here down on the Playa. It was 36*C, with a gentle breeze blowing through my hair...

37*C in my wee garden studio ; the weight is falling off my two cats - so why is it not falling off me? :(

Do your cats hunt much and have you noticed any changes recently? We've got three, one of them is a hunter and brings in 4 or 5 mice a week, the other two don't normally catch anything. Have noticed that since the hot weather started even the cat we've got that is normally too stupid to catch anything has been bringing us presents. She brought in three mice yesterday alone.

One of them especially is a bit of a hunter. Today he caught a bird (I think) and he and his brother high-tailed it into the house with me chasing after. They hared it upstairs with me in hot pursuit - the bird must have freed itself and escaped out an open window - unless that is it was a frog - and that frog is in one of the bedrooms hiding under a bed. :)

Fortunately we don't get too many birds, maybe one every couple of months, but the local population of mice, voles, shrews etc has taken an absolute battering since we moved to our new house. Having said that we did have a sparrow flying around the dining room yesterday morning after the stupid cat brought it in and let it go. I'm still waiting for them to bring back something useful like a rabbit, a pheasant or preferably a deer so that I can stock the freezer.

Every shop in south east London has sold out of fans

bad time for ours to have broken

not seen rain since first day of May, I think I might go out and do a dance

London seems to get it so much worse, my clothes were soaked through when I was on the tube with a few thousand others sardined in.

Played yesterday (Thursday) had to come off after 7 holes, was drinking loads but it just wasn’t enough, was well up in my match too 😢

Can I be the first to say... I'm calling bull poo poo on this :D

On which bit? I was 6 points in front and gutted to have to concede, was at Buckingham with my society , the ladies in the office were very kind as I spent an hour on their floor with cold towels and copious amounts of water. Until I felt better.

Oops, clearly I was wrong, glad you're feeling better (it just sounded a tad OTT for a bit of sunshine)

You must be one of the folks the 'stay indoors' weather warning was being posted for :o
