Think its time to make the move up to proper blades.

been using my mizuno mp60's for quite a while now great clubs just fancy a change

its between
nike forged blades and the new nike vr blades

I take it you're a decent player then. Where do you play and what are you off. Out of interest why the need to switch to blades when even an increasing number of tour pros are preferring the forgiveness of a cavity. I'm not picking, but just intrigued

If you are a decent ball striker, why not. Sadly, mine are in the wardrobe, as I find the 6i and up too unreliable.

You'll struggle to find a nicer club to hit than your current MP60's.

If they were good enough for Luke Donald who's a sublime iron player then they're good enough for you!

I much prefer Blades I had a set of cavitys Maxfli Rev's about 11 yrs ago and I think blades are much easier to shape shots with they are also easier to manipulate the trajectory with.

I am not sure that Luke Donald used the mp60's he had the Mp32's for just over two years then switched to the Mp62's last year.

All this talk about being able to "shape shots" with blades has me confused.

I prefer blades, always have done. I tried a set of cavity backs once but they didn't stay in my bag for long. I think I just prefer the feedback you get from them, and the smaller look.

Unless I'm behind something like a tree, I always try to hit my shots straight. I think that's hard enough without worrying about having to move the ball one way or the other.

I can shape any club, cavity or blade. Just not the way I want.

My issue with blades had nothing to do with workability, but more that if you miss the sweet spot (easily done, not sure mine ever had one), then they go no where.

I think that is why a lot of pros are switching to small style cavity's. They know that if they miss the middle (yes even tour players do) then at least they will get some degree of yardage from the shot. Contrary to popular belief I think you will find that a lot of these clubs now are easier to shape and a lot of it is actually to do with the ball designs which are designed to spin less and therefore reduces the necessary side spin to fade or draw.

I agreed, easier to shape a shot, but so unforgiving...the amount of Titleist balatas, that where cut beyond use........

love the weight of blades tbh personal preference.

Last year I composed a "travel" golf bag with old clubs and put in old MP11s. I dont notice any difference to my MacGregors apart from the surprising fact that they hardly need any cleaning - they seem to be dirt-repellant. Any explanation for this puzzle?

Since you're this wonderful and yet were off 12 not so long ago, I say GO for blades. When you can't hit anything decently you'll give us all a good laugh at money poured down the drain.

The 9i is nice. I have 3i to PW in these. Blades throughout. THe cavities in the long irons to me are not as nice as the blades. That picture is of the mixed set, including 1025Cs in the longer irons.

Macgregor 1025Ms. Lovely looking clubs. Apparently they have a sweet spot somewhere on the face. I never found it.

I have kept them in case I ever get my game back.
