Does anyone use the online bookmaker BETWAY?
I opened an account yesterday as they were offering to match your first bet upto £50. I was lumping on Real Madrid (easy money).
When I went to withdraw my winnings it says I need to verify my age before I can withdraw funds
I emailed a pic of my driving licence this morning & received a email saying it could take upto 24hrs.

Surely they should be asking you to verify your age before you start gambling,not when you've won your bet.
I've got accounts with all the major Bookies & I've never had anything like this before.

Bwin did exactly the same to me when I signed up for them.

I think its to stop people having multiple accounts under different names and addresses to snap up free bonuses etc.

This quite straight forward compared to the hoops some will ask you to jump through.

UK bookmakers really do get away with murder these days, yet because the govt takes their share the regulation is next to awful

I had the same with my betfair account. I'd had the account a good few weeks and happily made a couple of deposits, no problem.

Then I finally had a winner and they wouldn't let me make a withdrawal. Took about 3 days to sort out in the end and then another 3 days to clear in my bank account!

Maybe Ive been lucky upto now as ive never had any problems before.

Can't beat walking into an actual bookies & dealing in hard cash,lot less hassle.

I use bet365 and winnings normally in your betting account immediately and can be used to place bets immediately , but it can take 2/3 working days before you can transfer the funds into your own bank account.

I usually use Betfair & have no issues with them.
I only opened this new account for the free bet.

Finally got it sorted with BETWAY,won't be using them again.

Think yourself lucky. A mate of mine has had numerous accounts closed down with bookies with no warning as he has a nice habit of winning
