For those who regularly bet on our favourite game, how much money do you think you've won/lost in total over the years you've been doing it? Golf is surely one of the most difficult sports to bet on...is there anyone who claims to be ahead overall?

I'm up simply because I've only bet on a few tournaments. Had Luke Donald at Wentworth leader after round 1 then but the winnings on him to win it, getting about £80. Lost about £15 since then on the Masters and a few others.

I only bet on the majors and i'm way up this year.

I have Rory winning the US open to thank for that.
Lost money on the masters, broke even at the open
and had a nice little earner last week with Mr Toms finishing top 5

I dabble with golf at best and I always lose.

In fact, I often don't even make the cut!

I've done ok at football and F1, but frickin' useless at golf.

I always have a silly penchant for the big odds on Jiminez. He's always there or there about but that big ginger b*****d has cost me over the last couple of years. I did see him on the Sun / Mon at last years Ryder cup so all is forgiven.

Don't bet much money overall.

This year I have probably lost about £40 - 50.

Overall I think I am up a good few hundred but only as I had a £10 free bet once that was put on Carl Petterson at 66/1 on the nose in some run of the mill tour event and he came up trumps. Not even to sure how it all came about with that bet!

About even, haven't betted much at all, won a few quid on Ogilvy at the Masters each way then lost it all at The Open.

I think I'm up a couple of hundred over teh last 4 or 5 years.

Best ever I picked the winners on European Tour and US tour on the same week, Chris di Marco won in Dubai and Chad Campbell won in the States, why can't I get that kind of inspired jusgement any more?

Cant say a bad word about Mark Roe after he tipped Poulter for the WGC matchplay last year, took his advice and he came home!

in the majors, 4 of us have a £5 e/w on a low odds player and an outsider. I picked Keegan Bradley as my outsider for the USPGA, and cher ching! but we split any winnings, so not up as much as i could have been. but as we share winnings, we share losses, its its not too bad. im probably up only £150 now. Bradley has been my only win this year, a few places other than that

I'm ahead overall, but if I wasn't then I probably wouldn't have a job anymore as it's what I do for a living.... £50 on Darren Clarke at 220-1 managed to cover up the huge losses I made on Tiger last year (I also put £50 on him on my own personal account which was very nice, but i did chicken out a bit on Saturday night and layed off about 1/3 of it... :o

My biggest day at work still remains the world cup final day where I had a huge bet on Spain to win @4-1 and decent bets on Stricker @32-1 in the PGA event and Edoardo Molinari @ 85-1 in the Scottish Open. All came in within a few hours of each other as well which was cool. :D

any more big wins? im a big fan of sports betting, but only small ball and bet within my means.

Ive had dabbles on the majors for 30 years, but only started betting weekly on the tour events the last year or so. Really no idea how much Ive lost or won, had a few big wins years ago in the masters which prob made up for any other losses. Nowadays I do trading betting, make a small profit (very small!) but fairly consistent. e.g. wager £40 and win £5, not much but a good % profit.

For a small firm. Would like to do it for myself one day when/if I have enough money to make it worthwhile.

Stick with the comfort of having a firm behind you and do your own bits on the side, I do it for myself (mainly on cricket), games getting harder and harder to make a crust from

Golf hit and miss - but football is Paying off - charlton Brighton Crawley treble on Saturday, charlton tuesday, derby last night and Stoke tonight has added £178 to my betfair account

I have had a few bets on the Majors in the past couple of years. Sadly none have been successful so I'm down about £80. They have been based purely on who I'd like to win, rather than who probably has a chance.
