Played this afternoon, had the best of the weather after a dull morning.
Played a local pay and play , Dunton Hills par 72. Course in very good condition, greens exceptional for a public course, they have been well watered and are so soft you can really fire at the pins , unlike many of the hard greens elsewhere at the moment.
Well i played out of my skin tee to green, putted better than usual. Walked off with a 6 over par 78! By far my best round yet. 8 pars , 2 birdies , 8 bogeys . 4 over back 9, 2 over front 9. Missed only 2 fairways with the driver and they were safe , 3 drives around the 3oo yard mark . Lethal from inside 100 yards, even made 2 great shots with a 64 degree lob wedge that i seldom use
Well i'm chuffed :D :D :D

Andycap , we played a quick twilight 9 at Dunton last wednesday....those greens are super soft !!! In fact , i'd say too soft personally. When you can see your shoe imprint on the greens and it stays there for a fee seconds then thats too soft. The rest of the course is in very good nick though. Good shooting mate :)

nomadpaul thanks,
I agree with you about the greens, we played last week and they were even softer!, we could see water coming up around our feet in some places and had to tread very carefully, but all in all the green keepers are doing a great job over there , considering the ammount of hackers you get that really don't seem to care about course management . :(
