Following on from the best hole you have played thread what is your favourite hole from the telly or one you would really like to play.

For me it would be the 18th at st andrews, because all the greats have played it and all walked accross the swilken bridge and the other would be the 17th at sawgrass because it is a very iconic hole in golf...

Whats yours???

Breaking the OP question a little but Amen corner on the telly is fantastic.
Watching the same fourballs coming down these holes rather than spots of them across the course is far better coverage and the holes aint easy either.

Problem is, the Swilken Bridge is usually taped up for the likes of me and you so you wouldn't get to walk over it.

Mind thats a bit poor. But i dare say with the amount of traffic it would get its maybe best, would settle for just looking at it in awe...

They'd solve the problem by smashing the old one to bits and replacing it with a nice metal one.
Then we could all walk over it.

Always open every time I've been there (Couple of dozen times a year). You can walk over the whole course on a Sunday as it is closed for golf on the Sabbath, but as a public links you can walk the dog on it if you like.

I am with you on that. My draw has turned into a hook and I can't seem to sort it out!

yep... 17th at sawgrass.

probably the most iconic hole in golf and one that i'd quite happily stand there and hit a whole bucket of balls at!

No probs with Swilken bridge for me either, I even put my leg up on the side to mimic Mr Nicklaus, no stones fell off either!!

To answer the OP, I'd like to play the 9th at Turnberry from the back tee.

Carnoustie. The last. Only to to better than J v-d-v.
(I mean - how hard can it be?) :)

(I've actually been offered a lift to the clubhouse door in last week in June....might even get to make it come real)

13th Augusta....

18th Bayhill

18th Killarney (Killeen)

3rd Prestwick

I could go on forever.

I was thinking that and of beating Harringtons 6 too when I played it last year, I hit 2 belters (for me :o) and got on the green in 2. 3 putted of course in front of the clubhouse for a 5.

Brilliant to get all the famous spots pointed out by Atticus Finch, without the grandstands it all looks pretty different.

i've played the 18th at Pebble Beach (plus all the other 17) many many times

It's just a gentle draw - aim just left of the group of trees just throigh the fairway and then let the draw take it down teh fairway.

Just make sure you keep tapping the SQUARE button as you push the joystick foeward :)
