After a few rounds where the driver (ping g15) wasn't behaving I thought it was about time to look into purchasing a fairway wood to get some added forgivness off the tee.

Off I went to the nearest american golf store and narrowed it down to three at around the £90 area. (Callaway razr x black, benross hot speed & cobra baffler).

I dismissed the cobra straight away as the face looked way too shallow to use off the tee. But I was able to give the callaway and benross a test on the launch monitor.

My initial prejudice was to prefer the callaway over the benross as it was a brand I was familiar with but after a few hits with each club I was pleasantly surpised that the benross performed better. I was getting an average of 10 yards more carry and less disperssion.

I ended up walking out with the benross hot speed and straight to the course where it lived up to its test results. I was hitting way more fairways than normal with only my putting letting me down.

What a cracking club this is, I can only wonder how much more successful benross would be with a little bit of marketing/advertising. If the rest of the hot range and indeed speed line products from benross are as good as this little beauty, then you should all go out and give one a test and see how it compares to your normal taylormade/callaway etc.

just bought a hybrid off their range the other day and tbh I love it,know people who dismiss their stuff but that's their loss.
