In case you hadn't noticed I'm browsing some swings on Youtube at the moment

Not seen this vid of Hogans swing before. It shows how he moves weight to the left side before completing his backswing... bit like patting your head whilst rubbing your tummy

its not a slide, its a turn of the hips to get them out the way, u need to check out his book

Yeah, but the thing with Hogan is that he was quite good. It doesn't necessarily mean that normal people can swing the same as him and get away with it.

Is that hip slide a something that made him a great player, or was he a great player despite such an obvious swing fault?

For me, Watson's swing makes much more sense atm.

Smiffy's hardly seen my new improved swing, so what he says isn't lies, it's just uninformed rhetoric based on him being a knob

I've always been able to bullshine my way round. I read more books in the late 70s and 80s than most, and could make up the rest from a standing start.

Hit it ? Nope - I've never found the need to do that.
