Not for me I'm afraid out of vanity and principal. If I play a match against someone using one I tend to think they must have/had issues with their putting and so I'm reticent to give anything in the early part of the game and just see exactly how confident they are with it. I'm opposed to it on the grounds of anchorage too. Whilst I accept it isn't illegal I do think its against the spirit of the word stroke. Until the R&A and USGA grow a pair and make a definitive decision I'm not against people using them if it helps their game but not for me thanks

Also, none of the top 5 in the world golf rankings use belly putters.

Not for me. It's a case of pendulum versus free-swinging, innit? I just don't the pendulum action is in keeping with the spirit of the game. I'm hoping for this reason they will be banned.

Mind you, I wouldn't like to try and word such a rule. Somehow, I don't think it's a straightforward as some folk think.

Never said they were illegal. I just don't agree that you can make a "stroke" with it anchored. Like I say I'm happy that many people use them well. The question was would you use one and I said no as I am to vain to do so and I don't agree with the anchorage but I also said it is up to the games ruling bodies to get of their ample derrieres and make a definitive decision

When I got fitted for my Scotty, I did try the belly putter while there. a TM Corza, didn't like it.

I prefer the regular length putter, but I see the attraction to the belly and broom handle.

If it breaks any rule I can't find which one. I have no issue with people using them, after all, it's their choice.

For me, golf is a hobby, and you're supposed to enjoy your hobbies. If the belly/broom helps you enjoy the game of golf more.... I'm all for it.

Use whatever you want. I have never tried one. My putting is ok. If it was not then yes I may try one. You are still making a stroke anchored or not. As for the pendulum stroke you do that with a short stick anyway I cant see any valid argument against them. To me its no different than, blade clubs v Game improver clubs. They are there to help thats all, if you want them.

I use one it's a 43'' Taylormade spider has made me start enjoying the game again have never been a good putter but the long putter is slowly improving me. As for banning them I think now a major has been won using one (keegan Bradley) I don't think they will

The only reason people use them is to promote a one piece take away with no breaking of the wrists.
Therefor, I am set against them as there are ways of learning to do this without forking out for a gut stick.

Well you see, the best putters in the world have the same fundamentals.
Still lower half.
locked wrists
rocking shoulders giving good direction and distance control.

Now if only there was a way of learning how to putt as good as the pros.
