Beer glass

There's a certain element of "drinking with your eyes" that adds to the experience. Drinking a Kwak from the correct paraphernalia is an experient. I have a couple of trappist glasses but I want to get them all. My Westmalle ones are spilling machines!

got about 30 including a Kwak, my least fav one though... hard to clean , but gone off Kwak.

Current fave is Carolus, Curvee Van De Keizer, its 12% and gives you a happy warm feeling all over once you have had a couple of bottles.. hic

I don't revisit beers very often but recently I've taken a craving for some more Trappists. Currently ageing a couple of bottles of Orval to let the brett do its work as I've only really had it fresh before. I'm lucky enough to have tried Westvleteren 12 and blond and I loved them both. The Rochefort range is superb and a real "go to" for quality. Same with St. Bernadus.

God, I'm dying for a beer now! Haha.

Used to love Orval, but got hammered on it at the CAMRA beer festival in St Albans a few years ago, same with Rochefort, they had a barrel of 12, again at the Camra beer fest. mate and i drank they whole thing, had a hangover for at least 2 days, steer clear now;)

I get over to Bruges once a year now and the range and quality of beers is stunning.

not sure if its still there but there was a Belgian Cafe around the corner from Farringdon Tube, they had a menu of beers of about 20 pages thick, had some in there i'd never heard of, even had a few that were 20%.

I have a nice little collection of beer glasses at home, different shapes for different beers and ales. Always best to use the correct type of glass for the drink.

Ah, but are those glasses on a 'long time loan' or did you actually purchase them? I think that's what we need to know! ;) Unfortunately the hipsters have taken over this thread!!!! ;) :D :D

Strongest beer I've had so far was about 60% but that's been freeze distilled to within an inch of its life. Brewdog have a few that are worth trying, too, that drink more like whiskeys that sit around 30% and 40%.

Few beer snobs in here! What's wrong with a nice cold pint of lager? :D

Absolutely nothing.....provided it's the correct lager.....that's in its proper glass.....that preferably you haven't nicked!! ;) :D

Now that is a good golf club event! What is the brewery, out of interest?

Twisted Barrel are from Coventry and have done some stunning beers recently.

Dhillons, I've met with them and although they are pretty new, the owner has great passion and there beers are already showing up on the radar far & wide.

Nothing really, but there’s a whole world out there!

You don’t drink for pleasure though....just image. It’s ok to admit you’d rather have a glass of milk !!

Never had anything by them yet, but looking at their range I don't think it would appeal to me. Looks like mostly cask in traditional English styles, which isn't my thing but fair play to any micro-brewery getting their foot on the ladder!

To be fair, I would!!! Straight out of a glass bottle though, with the cream sitting nicely on top! None of this plastic crap! I'm a milk snob!!! ;)

I was a milk monitor in primary school, I can send you a signed photo if you like? :)

In those sorts of lagers there is very little aroma, beyond the chemically sensation given off by the cheap produce inside. I don't think any mainstream lagers have anything worth capturing in that regard. There'll be extra retention of carbonation, certainly, because as we all know fizzy lager is the mainstay of the every day pub drinker but for me it's definitely a marketing ploy ahead of any attempt to make for a good beer experience. If they wanted that, they'd brew good beers which they don't. It's acrid swill.

Spiegelau is my go to for IPAs for head retention and to capture the hop aroma. My Tekus are my go to for my big stouts and sours where I want more interaction between air and beer and where I'm happy for the temperature to rise a little more in the glass. I have schooners for when I have company as serving everyone in the same glass seems like a good host thing to do!

Please tell me you read VIZ,

All legitimate gifts of course!

The importance of the right glass is something to note however.
