Beckham at Milan

Have to say I have been fairly impressed with David Beckham in his efforts with Milan.
Have never been a great fan due to his limelight seeking DVB branding crapola but I think he has really knuckled down this time, got fit and has ditched the ego, realised his time is short in the game and is concentrating on football rather than his image for once. His stints in Madrid and LA didn't do a lot for him as a footballer as his mind was clearly on £££ and his naff wife's fashion/pop rubbish rather than playing the game.

What do others think? I think the 'boy's done good' for once and good luck to him getting to stay at Milan rather than wasting his career in LA (even if they do pay him a fortune).

I agree actually - was glad to see the back of him at Old Trafford due to his me me me attitude (which only seemed to appear following his marriage...)

His time at madrid was nowhere near as successful as the media would have you believe - a bit part player in a bad side, and the move to america was something of a joke. Noticeable that he seems to be doing much better without the circus following him (no coincidence that she has stayed in LA and at the same time the publicity stunts seem far fewer)

Have to wonder what the hell milan are thinking though - apart from pato and kaka, the average age of the team must be about 35 - another semi-retiree won't help that much!

I agree that he is doing well at Milan and certainly has got Capellos interest. The England manager was due to go out to see him last weekend so I guess he may still figure as a bit part player for England. There are rumours of a permanent move to Milan but I can't see it being any longer than a 1 possibly 2 year contract. Good to see him get one final crack at the "big time" and especially as the clothes horse is still parked in LA

have just noticed I've become a "journeyman" with a comment on a thread about a footballer trawling the globe seeking meaningful employment.

Ironic!

I think it would be a good move for him , playing at that standard can only be good for England, as shown the other night he still has the passion and can change a game

Good luck to him and he has to be commended for getting back to a high level of football, but.......................

Why did he go to the states in the first place?. He was chasing the dollar. Nothing more. He thought that he was past his best and I believe that he is. With AC though, he is one of the youngsters . They have got to be one of the oldest teams ever.

Pepperami,(mrs B) has been the dictator in the family and IMO she was the start of his downfall.

Gotta agree, I really do like Beckham and if I am totally Honest at the time I was sad to see him leave the T.O.D but obv Ronaldo was a tidy replacement. (did fergie know this at the time?)

Failed to take him seriously the day he signed for LA Galaxy chocolate bars FC.

Fair does though, Pleding his future to AC milan, shows how committed, gifted and fit he still is. I hope he does make the England squad (obv have to prove he is worthy, although its not hard these days) :D

I think he still has the ability to turn games on their heads and lift teams with a single kick of the ball.
