Pretty wild up here over night and until about 11am this morning but the wind is dying a bit, probably only 30-40mph now. It is how ever snowing a bit. The MET office has issued a yellow alert for snow for Orkney and Shetland tomorrow, I'm just wondering if this means dont eat it.

I have had an interesting 12 hours.
Wife, daughter and her twa bairns off to Paris Disneyland.

Midday flight with me driving them up from South Ayrshire.
Swerved around the garden shed roof on the road at Alloway and passed a couple of overturned lorries, wondering if the flight will still be on.

It was and they are 'nearly there yet'.
It was a secret until they checked in, they thought they were going to Avimore!
You should have seen their faces........talk about disappointed!!

Well woke up to find half me fence in next doors veg patch.
Looks like his sprouts are a right off, a result if you ask me.
Just snow to contend with tonight looking at the met office web site. Don't you just love winter.
Glad to here everyones ok though.
Are East Anglia still holding their breath? Looked a bit dodgy for later on tonight, something about a tidal surge? :ooo:

The wind was pretty strong round Lincolnshirebut nothing like up north, had around 5 mins of rain. RIP to the poor soul that lost his life in Retford on his mobility scooter.

Weather warning in sweden for tonight,,,was to gymnastic excerise group and it was a bit windy but not so much....took the workcomputer with me home and will work from home tomorrow,,,communication usually get bananas first snow,,

Not getting much down here at all. Bit blowy and a few showers but no storm surge on the high tide so all well.
Hope all our forum friends in the north are ok.

I know that seems funny but 2 people have died today in the wind, 1 old boy not to far away from you in Retford got killed by a falling tree! Not a good day.

& I feel for theses people & their families,BUT it was a pic of a watering can that'd blown over so get over it
