BBC's Open coverage

I was irritated by the lack of coverage of Paul Lawrie, considering how well he was doing.

They initially showed his chip ins (recorded), later his putts and eventually started showing his approach shots when he was right at the top of the leader board.

Meanwhile we saw every sclaff Justin Rose hit...

They were as per usual more interested in showing the World number 3 putt like a 14 handicap in the monthly medal.

Also can't believe that anyone would back Rose....................

We hear you Craw........ But yes I agree total waste of money betting him, thorn in my side:whoo:

To see all day of the Beebs coverage on my computer was awsome, the coverage was their best for many years. I, for one, have no complaints.

Once they figured out how to track the ball they have been fine ... First hour in the morning was dreadful for not knowing where the ball was!!

Same but not limited to the first hour. Their ball tracking was dreadful in comparison to SKY coverage, numerous times they lost the ball in flight and the camera had to pan back and forward trying to spot where it came down.....poor.

However, the commentary is great, I still like Peter Alliss' genial meanderings around the course

Not being able to track the ball at first was amusing but became irritating.

They should be more flexible on what players they should cover as well rather than stick with the pre-selected ones

Coverage fine. Great to hear Tony Jacklin. Looking forward to Sir Nick. Good to nick David Howell for the week too.

But will someone please shoot Peter Alliss and put us all out of our misery. The man is completely senile and more past his sell-by date than the sandwiches in Abu's 7-11 store in the Simpsons.

Never thought I'd say this but I am having to agree with the opinion that Peter Alliss is now past his sell by date...

Unlikely to happen but I feel Wayne Grady is now his natural successor...

the coverage has been poor,we have not seen a lot of the players even hit a ball and they seem to just cover stain holes, were are DYSON,BJORN,DALY and the rest of the field no shots of the amateurs just the top names, the commentary is the normal dull" back in my day chat " and if someone e-mails in again to the commentary team to ask how much did JACKLIN win AAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!

Wayne Grady is good but of all those on I like Andrew Cotter, great with the Rugby too.

So you think somebody who has never been a golf pro should be favoured over a major winner...also plenty of qualyfied ryder cuppers on the BBC team, keep up the excellent uninterupted coverage BBC.

I never said Cotter was better I just said I liked him and I also never said he should be favoured over a major winner. You appear to have read something else in my post.

Just because your an ex pro it doesn't mean you'll be a good commentator although the BBC have done well finding some of the better ones in Brown, Grady etc.

So I've just been listening to 5 live in the car and it's driven me mad!

Despite being -10, Brandt Snedeker is not the "true" leader, apparently. The "real" lead is around -6 with Lawrie, Johnson et al.

The basis for this appears to be that they've never heard of Snedeker!! FFS - he's a good player, don't know his ranking but must be well within the top 50. Looks like as well as only covering golf once a year the beeb only watch it once as well!!!

Grrrr!!!

Snedekers is 29th in the OWGR, his last win was in a play off this year when Kyle Stanley blew u at Torrey Pines

He also beat Luke Donald in a play off last year at the Heritage

This guy can get it done, make no bones about it.

People really should watch the PGA tour more often ;)
