Shame but he's playing well and still in with a shout. It makes looking at his scorecards interesting, the only dropped shots in 3 rounds are 2 double bogeys.
Lucky it was spotted, could have been another Tiger-gate Masters inquisition ... I'm sure he wouldn't have been branded a cheat though![]()
I do think there is a clear difference between what happened and Tigers drop at the Masters.
Would have been interesting to see what would have happened if he had of signed his scorecard... If he had not then been DQ and just took a 2 shot penalty then I'm not sure the forum would have been in uproar like it was when it happened to Tiger.
Apparently spotted by his fellow competitor's caddie! Seems a bit harsh if he was only taking relief from a spectator walkway!Just wondering who and when was it spotted?
If it was spotted during the round why didn't they let him know during the round?
I see he seems to have taken it quite well as he has just tweeted "foot fault...."
All depends on if he was DQed or not
The problem I had with the Woods incident is that he should have been DQed as per the rules of golf and because it was Woods the Masters envoked some clause that I believe wouldn't have been invoked for anyone else
If they had done the same for Rory then I would have been equally disappointed
We will never know...
Can they even pull it up after the cards have been signed now? If no refs have spotted it and nothing is said to Rory can they go back and look at the videos with the new rules???

The two shot penalty has already been applied - he didn't take full relief and that was confirmed with the ref so he applied the correct penalty then signed for his card.
And yes people can now be punished after the card has been signed if something is spotted
How does the new spectator phoning up rule work now then?
I wasn't aware of any change but heard they wanted ( well Woods and Finchem did ) it changed
But why would you want it changed unless you wanted to get away with rule breaks that had been spotted
There has definatly been a change... Can someone give a definite answer on what the change is?
I'm guessing your in the Tigers a cheat camp then...
Apparently the Tournament Committee can, and always have been able, to waive a DQ in exceptional circumstances. The exceptional circumstances in Tiger's case was that they knew that he hadn't dropped the ball in exactly the right spot, but failed to draw his attention to this before he signed his card. There has definatly been a change... Well looks like Liverpoolphil's got his Saturday night sorted![]()

The exceptional circumstances where that it was Woods and they were worried about the backlash and the viewing figures
Many people have been DQed for it before
Are you back to assumptions again? Or did someone in the know tell you this?
