Been found guilty on 43 counts of sexual assault on young boys.
Unfortunately, we'll be keeping him alive.
I hope he rots in Hell ................... utter scum.

He's one of those disgusting people who can't see that he's done anything wrong. He will never be rehabilitated and given the scale of the abuse he carried out, he should be given a whole life tariff. Jail until the end of his life, no hope of ever being released.

I did actually meet him when I was a kid. I played for a team in the same league as a team he ran. That was in his Stoke days. The kids we played against were all on Stoke's books and they were a school year younger than we were. They still beat us! But he came and took us for a training session one day - probably for the purposes of looking for anyone who might be good enough to be recruited. I was OK at football in those days, but I'm bloody thankful I was never good enough to have caught his eye.

More depravity coming out. Seems he ran soccer schools in the US during the summer and no surprise abused boys there.
Rumoured to be 100's of cases, which I can believe given how long he had access to kids.
Sick git, I hope he gets plenty of hidings in prison

One will do ...................... as long as it's fatal.

I find it very hard to understand how nobody has put him in a shallow grave somewhere.
These boys grow into big strong men, if he had done that to me I would have gone looking for him once I was old enough to take him out.

He must have done a major scycological job on them , how did he get away with it ?
some people have been covering it up it’s the only answer but why.

Crewe have been criticised by a number of sources in the reports I've read. I do think it is the end of it for them either.

Not sure that the FA are at fault here. Unless I've missed something I don't see that they are linked to this.

Clubchamp98, it's not that simple for big strong men to take revenge. What you don't realise is that those big men will still be terrified. Those memories will bring back tremendous fear exactly how they felt as children. So to face the perpetrator would be terrifying. The psychology damage done has been horrendous

I agree with criticised but really taken to task, not seen that yet.

The FA have governance over Football, its an outdated boys club that struggles to be fit for purpose. It is supposed to see over all aspects of the game at every level.
I may be be wrong but it set up a helpline in the wake of the abuse stories and I haven't seen anything since about the review they were supposed to be conducting in to the scandal.

Is the correct answer, plus the fact that the victims will be, (tragically), overwhelmed with guilt for allowing it to happen in the first place.
I just feel so unbelievably sorry for the victims.

yes I do get that they are damaged psychologically.

My point was if there were so many victims just one would be capable of sorting him out.

They still looked terrified standing outside the court.

31 years.
Not long enough for all the misery and lives he's ruined.
Hopefully he'll die in prison ..................... soon.

I'm always amazed at the soft sentencing in this country for this vile offence, the American sports coach who was recently convicted of similar offences was jailed for 175 years!!!

I remember watching a documentary a couple of years ago where the police had spent 5 years tracking down a gang of paedophiles, after all their work, the ring leader was just sentenced to 3 years, probably out in 18 months.

Was also watching the programme last night about the abuse in the public school system, and the way the was covered up. Again, once convicted there were only 2-3 year sentences handed out.

Does the establishment in this country view this as almost an acceptable crime? For me if you have committed this sort of crime against a child you have ruined their life, and the sentence should reflect this.

Nowadays they keep sex offenders very well segregated from other prisoners. At least officially.
They may keep sex offenders segregated from the general population, but there will still be some within that segregation that will do him harm. We can hope anyway.

Was there a minimum sentence set down? I ask as following the recent recommendation of parole for John Warboys I have reduced faith in him seeing the rest of his life in prison. Having a minimum stipulated would help to resolve that.
