ball tracking graphics on TV

Quite clearly not working for all tee shots, as the one for tiger showed it drawing almost to the left edge, then the behind green shot showed the ball almost hitting the flag !!

I happened to be watching golf with a camera man the other day, he does not play or watch golf. He was very impressed at the ball following the camera guys were doing (PGA on Sky). I told him "oh I think its a machine". He assured me it was not and they were doing a great job in a situation he said would be VERY hard, he said it would take a lot of practice.

I love the trackman follow shots too, I would love them for all balls hit... one day I guess.

I saw that. I thought uh oh he's missed left and the ball pitched right by the flag. They probably just guess ;)

It's ok on the first. But it would do my head in on every shot. If I wanted a golf game. I would get a PS3 and Tiger Woods golf game.
Or do you want to turn the coverage of the open. In to a kiddies computer game??

Glad I've read this thread, I thought I was going mental with some of the shots. Lost count how many times I thought it was offline but ended up close. Tigers was the prime example.

The equipment is probably designed/calibrated to work work when the ball is hit from the same spot every time. Because the players use different parts of the teeing ground probably causes slight discrepancies on the image that the equipment produces.
