Did you ask for the pound back? The lad who was about 8 years old at the time.
Last time I saw him he was about 6'4'' and playing off +2, he asked me if I still remembered him picking my 'marker' up.

So a pp putts up fairly close and elects to mark - and marks with a poker chip. One - it is not similar to small coin - and two - it sits on the surface and so is proud and therefore a potential issue - and hence distracting. I'd ask him to remark his ball with something more appropriate.

I'd move the chip to the side, whichever you chose was best for your intended line - you can have it moved as far as you like, 2,3,7,10 putter head lengths. If you wanted me to change my marker to a different type I would politely refuse.
If you are insistent, I may ask you to swap your driver for something more appropriate, preferably something that stopped finding the middle of the fairway 50yds in front of my effort![]()
