Is it just me that really struggles with these shots? I live in Sheffield so every course I play is pretty hilly. The one I play currently is very hilly and I rarely have a flat shot except on the tee.

When I have a shot where the ball is below my feet I almost always shank the ball and it finishes miles away.

For instance today I hit a 260y Drive with 60y to the pin. Got out my sand wedge and boom, straight into the trees beside me.

Any tips on these types of shots and what I may be doing wrong?

Maintain your forward tilt, dont lift up. Keep both feet on the ground through impact. Aim left as the ball will tend to fade. Take another club and swing easy. Dont allow your weight to fall forward, this will probably be causing the Shermans.

Keep your weight somewhat on your heels and and don't let your hands get too close to your thighs in doing so... your hands have to have somewhere to swing through on the way down.
