Thought it was the worst series yet re baking. Some of the presentation was Rammel.

Rahul is the man though. Not a vintage year but some good stuff still.

Too many stupid challenges this year, the pitta one tonight being a good example, vegan week another.

What was that all about with the pitta bread stuff. 😳

Should be binned off now. The “holywood handshake” used to be a rarely seen earned thing .. this serious it was handed out weekly .. sometimes 2 times a week

Just cheapened the whole show and seemed gimicy

Had it’s day now

Massively disappointing this season, Vegan week was stupid and that challenge last night was pathetic. Yea give them things they've never made to push them but how are they meant to know how hit the slate is meant to be, bet Holloywood would have struggled with that without plenty of practice.

The final bakes as landscapes was there to help cover issues they have with the skill sets.

Really underwhelming season overall

Haven't watched the final show yet, but I was underwhelmed with much of it this year. Rahul did pretty well a few times throughout the series, but he didn't massively "stand out" as most previous winners have done.

I'll be interested so see whether Rahul is hit with loads of media opportunities now or not. Haven't heard much from last year's winner Sophie. Wonder if it'll be different this year.

The only baker who has gone on to media work that I can think of is Nadia. The other winners and contestants have gone back to their normal lives. They often do a bit of local radio (baking sections), local cake and bake shows, take part in the BBC cake and bake shows but they rarely set up their own cafes, go full time media. I like that aspect of it, the contestants are not looking for fame, they just like baking.

Okay, I'll rephrase that. They do not actively seek fame through further reality shows, posting semi naked pictures of themselves etc. They pretty much go back to their normal lives. I can't think of one that has gone on to play the fame game.

Although I do a fair bit of baking doubt I've watched the program more than a handful of times... Think the baking is secondary to the 'personality' aspect...

I never bake - ever. Well I tell a lie as I do make "Salmon Cake" for the dogs :-) It is all about the personalities for me and hence the warm fuzzy feeling as they do all seem to be genuine nice every day folk who like baking!
