Except it's not up to player B to tell him, maybe the guy was DQ himself by NR'ing.
As far as I rememberr, both players were still in contention. It was a couple of years ago I heard the story so may be wrong

I agree. Why lower your own standards to the level of a couple of tossers ?
Be who you are regardless of how you're treated.![]()
If i was aware they knew i was in front of the marker & still let me play so i would get a penalty , sod the high ground mate , take your putt & il remind you after you have played .. if the guys hadnt been aware BEFORE id played ok id have told him then..
Dont understand this moral high ground if somebody does the dirt on you guys , he set the tone let him dance to the tune he called ..
^^^^^^^^I left this tit for tat behaviour in the playground. Have your own prinicipals and stick by them will do for me.

This one really took the biscuit. Was playing an event today where we have a double tee and the markers were pretty close together. I teed it up by mistake between one for the 2nd hole and one for the 9th.
The two guys I'm playing with point it out AFTER I've hit so I'm three off the tee. And then I find out that they both noticed before hand I was doing it but thought I would be in contention for a good score so wanted me to get the penalty.
What a pair of complete and utter idiots.
But just to prove I was better than them, one of them was about to putt from the wrong place having moved his marker so I pointed it out. The irony when he said "thanks I would have got a penalty otherwise" was just dripping.

So the guy knows your ahead of the marker, lets you play so you get a penalty & then tells you straight away & thats ok with you ? Fair play to ya man . i wouldnt go out of my way to create the problem for the guy or anything but if he makes a mistake like i did , id then do what he did .. sorry if that smarts a few people , but il treat you the way you treat me , no better , no worse ..
Where did I say what he did was ok.That does not mean I would revert to that sort of behaviour myself.
I play by my own standards nobody elses. I would have told him that he had replaced his ball in the wrong place, and used it as an opportunity to tell him that that is what good golf etiquette is all about.
I am too old to let some low life change my principals.
