Backing up/saving emails

Carrying on from my new PC thread the old one now appears to be working properly again so all my emails have reappeared Can I copy them to my external hard drive so I can transfer them to the new one arriving today. Simple how to if this is possible. Thanks

Where are they? Are they all stored local in an app like outlook? If so you can export them all to a pst otherwise if it's a Web based service then you don't need to do anything

Have a read of this from Microsoft on how to migrate outlook to a new PC. It looks quite daunting, but follow it step by step and you should be fine.

its the file type created by outlook when you create an archive. Are you using a hotmail address or similar and just downloading into outlook? If so most of your mail may well be stored online aswell and moving will be a lot easier. Without knowing your setup its pretty tricky to give a proper migration path.

Why don't you use a web based email account? You wont get these problems then.

Just realised I'd not activated my sky email so am sending any I want to keep to there.
