Be wary of leaves in hazards.

It was frustrating for my PP 2 weeks ago, drove a nice ball up the 18th and was just off the fairway at best but we never found the ball as there were just too many large curved leaves to hide under, we kicked about for a while because he was 4 under handicap at the time but the group behind was on the tee, so he NR'd!

Hit one today off line and saw it bounce twice, by the time we got there wind had blown leaves over it and was a lost ball Partner didn't play hole well and we blobbed

Amongst our group we adopt "the leaf rule" this time of year.
If all players agree that the ball ended up in an area that one would almost certainly find their ball in normal circumstances then a free drop is allowed (drop area nominated by pp).

Keeps things fun for us and maintains pace of play

Be very careful when looking for your own ball in these circumstances. If you kick or move your ball by treading on it, it is a penalty, however if your fellow competitor moves your ball it isn't.

Bane of my life at the moment. Spend hours clearing them from my garden, only for a covering to have fallen again within hours, then go and play golf and lose a few balls on, or just off the fairway!

Need a few frosts at home to get the rest off and be done with it. Our garden has a couple trees but the fields next door have a massive row of big trees......lovely in summer but a real pain for a few weeks.

Golf.....guess like has been said before, play for fun, invoke some friendly "local" rules and use the balls I find until normal service is resumed......as long as that isn't when it starts snowing!!!

Bloody livid with um at the mo. Played a medal and lost three balls which cost me massive. Went round in net 76. Losing balls you should walk straight to.

It happens. Frustrating if you're in a comp I guess but one of the hazards of the time of year. Better to be out playing than stuck in an office or rain/snow bound

Hahaha yes Delc I'm sure this thread will go down well:lol: I think we need to offset the risk of losing more balls by making the holes bigger in Autumn
