My playing partners this morning lost several golf balls when they were hit into areas where there were large numbers of fallen leaves. A hazard of playing in the Autumn I suppose! :(

At the moment the courses look beautiful with the leaves changing colours.

Our course is tree lined and leaves everywhere so if I ever play its for fun for a few weeks till they blow away.

And with that, we've hit peak Delc. ;)

Totally agree, annoying and frustrating, lost 1 myself this morning, was playing for fun, what would you do in a comp? Treat as lost ball?

I'm afraid that if you can't find and identify your ball within 5 minutes, it's lost. I don't think fallen leaves count as an Abnormal Ground Condition.

Just wasn't sure, no issue if under the trees, but losing it on the fairway.......🤔

You have to suck it up and get on with. Trees make my course far more attractive and the colours are fantastic at the moment. We will have 3-4 weeks of lost balls after good shots but then if I still played on a links course that happened every round.

We've got a leaf collecting machine, but as soon as they've picked up all the leaves they're replaced with a new covering.

I thought you were going to talk about the fabulous colours of leaves at the moment

Rowan (nb derived from the Gaelic rudha-an, which means ‘the red one’) tree outside my mum's front door - in Scottish folk tradition a sacred tree that when planted outside a dwelling will protect the dwelling and inhabitants from evil spirits. Got one outside my own front door also - a cutting from this one.

It happens - used to it by now and will happen again next year

join a links course. Or move to Dubai, no trees & floodlit golf.

2 birds, 1 stone

or stop moaning, you can't have long left, you may as well enjoy it :D

Our place looks picture postcard beautiful in its Autumnal colours. But agree that losing a ball below leaves is a pain so for that reason I'll normally swerve qualifiers this time of year.
