image.jpgJust been out to the shops and had two leafy encounters.

Outside my front door skidded on one and near went base over apex against HID's car with potentially calamitous results.

Then leaving Waitrose another heel hits a large sycamore leaf and once again another near catastrophe - particularly as I'm playing in our end of term B v C grudge match later this morning.

Had to do that pretend thing of looking around and making like I was unflustered and as if nothing had happened.

My advice to one and all...

"Let's be careful out there'" :D

During a Seniors' qualifier on Thursday, both of my playing companions each lost a ball in areas of semi-rough, where you wouldn't normally expect to lose a ball, except they were covered in dead leaves! :(

It is going to be carnage at ours today. There are four holes where you can hardly see any fairway due to the amount of leaves on them. It looks as though we are waiting for the wind to clear them which might take a while as we seem to have used up our quota of that all through the summer.

Be pleased - if not for them! That should push the CSS up a bit!

Enough of the 'glass half empty' attitude! Change to 'glass half full'!

It didn't actually, as neither was in contention. Unfortunately I missed the buffer zone by 1 shot, so yet another 0.1 on my handicap! :(

They may not have been in contention, but others may well have been - and lost balls too! If there weren't, then you should perhaps examine your searching performance - or you might acquire a reputation for being a ball losing jinx!

I personally haven't lost a ball all week!

As I've mentioned in a previous thread, as autumn and winter draw in I take my golf to the coast for links, plus links are generally drier due to the wind.

4 lost balls today in leaves, after losing my first ball on the 2nd I used re-badged pick-ups so no major harm done, but looking for balls every other hole is a joke, especially just off the fairway, not even in the trees

Thankfully the leaves have been cleared from our fairways so no lost balls for me :D

We seemed to be out there forever today. When the ball went into the rough even marginally it was hard work to find it amongst the leaves. Several players missed greens by feet and spent a while looking for the ball. I know it's the time of year etc and even if the green staff blow/get rid of the existing leaves, more will return so on a hiding to nothing really. Just seemed to really play down today
