Can anyone check that my home course is mapped on their unit for me.

Addington Court
Featherbed Lane
Croydon
CR0 9AA

Ive checked their website and its saying request. Im about to buy a unit and dont want to shell out if my course isnt on there.

Hi,

Addington Palace in Croydon and Addington GC are on there. Addington Court is not.

The course information on the website is correct.

Devices do not ship with any courses on them.

I have no experience of their request process, but a change I requested to correct hole numbering errors has floundered.

I wouldn't buy one until the course is actually there If you do, post a topic in here and all of the owners on the forum can request the course ;-)

Regards

Al

cheers 109. needed it for the weekend too and found one at a bargin price. i dont play enough courses to really get the most of it if im honest, just gets my back up that R&A wont sort this bloody smartphone app rule out.

These haven't been out that long and I have heard they are still having issues getting courses mapped and uploaded.
Reviews are mixed so far. Can you not find someone who owns one you could borrow and try before you buy?

just spoke to callaway at kingston and although course coverage is over 80% they cannot give a time frame of when this course will be mapped. it could be 2 weeks, it could be 6 months or longer. Bugger!

took them less than 3 weeks to turn around my home course (they did receive a deluge of requests over a few days hehe) though have heard of some taking many months

Click golf have a sale 10% on everything by Thursday, Code 55149 Password FEBSALE. Think they are £140 so less 10% should be £126. Post free orders over £75. Have dealt with them in the past and have been ok.

tehy said normally after 5 requests it becomes a priority to get it mapped, and my course is currently showing 12 requests + the one ive just put in. ive emailed upro as advised to see if they can give an estimated date, but there are several courses within 5 miles that are still not mapped.

Bite the bullet and get a sky caddie (2.5 is more than adequate).

Both the Championship and Falconwood courses are mapped and requests have been made for the 9 holer.

If you are going to play many different course over the next year or two it works out very reasonably priced.

The alternative is to buy a course planner :D

I honestly cannot fault mine. I've had it since Christmas and it's been superb.

I've just uploaded version 4.0 for free which, apparently, irons out some of the previous 'issues'. One of the issues being that in one of the views of the hole, if you'd passed a bunker it would still give you a distance to that bunker. You had to change the view of the hole before it measured to the next hazard. I never saw this as a huge issue.

I paid £150 for mine, there's no yearly charge, the updates are free and a pro mode version of any course is £5. You can download a basic version (distance to green - front, middle and back) for free.

If you play a large amount of different courses then you can credit your Callaway account with more money and the pro mode course downloads become cheaper. £30 credit buys you 7 pro mode course downloads. I'll never play seven new courses in a year that require pro mode.

As far as I'm concerned, this is an excellent purchase.
