It all depends on lie of the ball and the location of the dangers/hazards, pin-position etc. I can’t say there’s a distance

At the risk of sounding trite, it would depend where the pin is. 5 foot over a bunker and on a slope, and I'm not ever aiming at it!

That's a really good question. 9 iron definitely, 8 iron if I am feeling good that day. It really should be 8 iron, I need to work on that ?

100yrds and in I’ll normally go at it unless it’s close to the edge. Going at the middle of the green on every hole is probably going to work out best unless the greens are huge.

I'm aiming at it from 6 iron and in then. I won't get near it very often, but that's the fun of it.

For me it’s 150 and in I’m going for it. Not to say it hasn’t got me it to lots of trouble. But as they say the caddie has given me the green light.

Play for the middle of some of our greens and you'll end up 30 yards from it....
Questions like these have too many variables to give an answer..
