Might be going to South Uist for a few days next year and am thinking about taking the bats for a game at Askernish. Its described as 'the holy grail of links golf', an Old Tom Morris design that was lost for decades but has recently been re-established.

Just wondered if anyones played it or heard what its like?

Its meant to be beautiful, wild and rugged and a superb lay out. We were actually talking about this place on Wednesday at Cathcart Castle. Sadly never ventured to play it however it would be quite a reward for the effort.

Nice wee video as well with the history of the "lost" golf course.

Thanks for the link Craw. Remember seeing this on the BBC Coast series. The course looks wonderful. Sort of place that you feel you ought to play with hickory shafts and gutty balls. If I had a chance to play it I'd grab it with both hands.
