Best round of the year at the weekend in the monthly medal (not sure, but possibly best round ever under medal play conditions).

Nett 67 - and came second to a nett 66.

And checking on HDID I now find I entered a wrong score - signed for a 4 on the 7th when I scored a 3. Would have come first on countback (close, but would have pipped it on best last three). Would have been a first ever win.

Repeat after me... You're an idiot. You're an idiot....

Sympathy appreciated.

What a plonker Rodney. Do you not have to enter your score into PSI. Was the score right on the card. At least if it was and you were entering it on a system you'd see (theoretically) that the two didn't tally. Take it on the chin and be pleased you played so well

Our club has not yet got round to PSI although the hardware/software does exist. Although it is used very widely, I still have niggling reservations (I am an old fuddy-duddy). Are you suggesting that the OP with a signed up card in his hand could alter the score to be entered into the computer if he realises he has signed for a score higher than actual? As stated, I am not familiar with the ins and outs of PSI so be kind to me.

Yes potential is there same way it is there to alter a physical card. You still have to submit the physical card though even if you have entered it on a computer. The physical card is the be all and end all under the rules.

The entered information by a player is really just a way to assist administration and is not were results and decisions should stand.

Unfortunately for backwoodsman it sound like it took the publishing of the results to realise the error. Had you realised during entry then you could have raised it with the committee or the marker if he was still around.

Personally I've started making use of the markers score section a lot more and always check off against it before submitting my card.

I woke up this morning and just thought from nowhere, " I got three on the 7th and I'm darn sure it said 4 on the card..." Taken till today to get at the score on HDID to check. Even phoned the club to look at both my card and the card I was marking - we'd both written 4 as my score - so can't blame my marker for writing a 4. I just clearly remember the hole as a) it was a magnificent second shot - a 6 iron to about 7 ft and b) never birdied the hole before.

Why did I write/say "4"... Idiot idiot idiot...

Guess its a lesson learned?

Very much so. At least you didn't do something that would be a DQ.
