Arranging our Volvo Pairs match.

Emailed mine over weekend and his PA emailed me this morning to find an adequate date I dunno if this was just intimidation tactics or not though

We were sorted pretty quickly though and im due to play Monday the 18th June. Suppose its a lot easier organising singles. I was still suprised how quick it was sorted though.

Davey's singles match was organized in one phone call, Can you play on the 11th? Yep, see you then.

Unfortunately he's not having the same luck for our pairs match. Fingers crossed it sorts itself out so I can clear the date in my diary, the further down the line we get the less and less chance I have of being able to play. Why these people can't play at weekends or in the afternoon is beyond me.

Homer mailed our Oppo's on Saturday with a list of dates but hadn't heard anything when I saw him yesterday. Hopefully things won't be too tricky

Still waiting. I'm going to send a text tomorrow and then get onto the organisers by Monday if they haven't replied. We're making all the effort so buggered if we're going to get DQ'd for it

I agree about use of the telephone. I called my opponent and we agreed a date within a couple of minutes after the pleasantries.

I haven't actually rung these guys yet but will do so tomorrow. Not always easy when you are working from 8.30 til 7 and on probation period though.

Looks like I am going to have to pull out of the Camberley meet....
Ray Taylor (my partner) is on holiday from 23rd June for 2 weeks, and one of our opponents is on holiday from next week-end until the following one.
The only date where we are all available is Wednesday 20th June! I am due to play Camberley on Monday 18th but won't be able to get two days off that week due to other holiday commitments at work.
As much as I wanted to go to Camberley, I'm not prepared to throw our £40.00 entry fee away and give our opposition a bye into the next round.

Fair play to our opponents, the guy organising their end has been away, has been in touch by e-mail and text and we're on for the 27th. Hopefully I'll still have a game and my man will find the form that got him to single figures.
