Forecast or 'area' temps are ok. Getting temperature for precise location isn't.

Now to just sort out/confirm Barometers/Hygrometers! And to figure out how any of that could have really helped - over simple pre-round calibration!

The decision that Rulefans response is probably referring to adds another piece to puzzle that would indicate that being able to actively measure conditions is the primary issue. I'll be very surprised if I get get a response saying that barometers and hygrometers are ok.

A.Yes. The prohibition in Rule 14-3 is only applicable to the specific act of gauging or measuring conditions that might affect a player's play (e.g. through use of an anemometer or a thermometer). When accessing weather reports provided by a weather station through an application or internet browser, the player is not actively measuring or gauging the conditions. (New)

I think Conwy allow them now - they changed last year I think but didn't up until then.

Sunningdale haven't had it mapped because they are Sunningdale. They have had the laser reflector things on the flagsticks for years and have sold the laser in the Pro Shop to bounce of them for a similar length of time.....

Of course I am Chris I may have rowed back a long way on my general position in respect of DMDs - but my heels are dug in in respect of comp play over your track - not that that'll make any difference I appreciate. But at the moment I shall not be moved

I'm someone who couldn't guess 170 yards by eye and isn't going to memorise all the distances so I need a laser/DMD for my golf, comp or bounce game. For me, golf is a game of hitting a ball a certain distance so, to stand a chance of winning, I need to know the distance! Golf, for me, isn't a guessing game of distance! But we've been through this so many times!

We have a basic weather station between the 8th and 11th greens and 12th and 9th tees, but nobody has been able to tell me what site uses the information it gathers

I'd guessing that round our own tracks we pretty much know all our distances as accurately as we ever need to - and for most conditions and we also know our clubbing.

But I appreciate that on this I am a pretty lonely voice in the wilderness.
