Are Nike now a recognised Golf Brand

Whatever you think about Nike, there's no doubt that their slick marketing and PR operations and high profile sponsorship of the "biggest" names have transformed them into arguably the most visible and recognisable brand in golf.

Whether their equipment lives up to that or not, is another matter entirely. I've never used any of their clubs so can't comment but I like their clothing.

They've never been on my golfing equipment radar, but they are my favourite sportswear brand. I like their clothing, and you can seem to get it pretty cheap in certain shops such as Sports Direct and TK Maxx, and it's good quality. I don't know why, but I prefer specific golf brands for equipment, such as PING, and I've tried to stay as loyal as I can to them, within reason. I think it's sort of the mindset that Nike have enough income without golf, whereas PING solely rely on their golfing gear, plus the fact that I like PING as a company and designers. That's why I don't have anything Nike in my bag.

Had a discussion during a Texas scramble yesterday about Nike, in general as a golf brand. It was a 50/50 split with 2 of us agreeing Yes they are and have as much technology etc as titliest, callaway. Whilst the other 2 stated that titliest and callaway are miles ahead.

Thoughts?

Yes is the most simple answer I can give I'm using one of there latest 3 woods and I must say its the best 3 wood I have ever had.

Secret Tour Pro confirmed that Rory doesn't even use Nike irons yesterday, just Muira with a Nike badge. Obviously not definitely a solid source, but that's been a rumour for a long time

That's just recycling the old rumour about Tiger's clubs from years ago.

Rory's clubs look exactly like the vr pro blades, so either it is them and the rumour is BS or miura have copied a Nike club just for Rory.
I'm in the it's BS camp. It's just what a lot of people want to hear, so he's stirring it up.

Couldnt disagree more, Tiger categorically didnt use Nike blades when they first came out!

But your right Miura would have copied it directly for Nike. Its really not hard to forge a head with a nike stamp on it.

i wasn't saying the Tiger rumour wasn't true.

I'm saying the Rory rumour is BS.
The question is why would they do it? Nike already has access to forging, it has been having forged clubs made for years. They can make him anything he wants. Why would they get miura to copy a Nike club, makes no sense.

So has the fact that they didn't land on the moon or the CIA planned 9/11. But just because a load of conspiracy whackjobs or anonymous twitter accounts go on about it on social media with no proof whatsoever does not make it true.
