I ask this question in all seriousness.
The game of golf is a great one - of that there can be no denial.
But, my point is this, the golf course is an area of outstanding natural beauty. Perfect, spirit level flat teeing areas which lead to lush, well defined fairways which snake their way to excellently manicured greens where your balls run true. Lydd - purchance.
And then.........
Us hackers get involved and we leave un-replaced divots lying around, we don't rake the bunkers and we don't repair our pitchmarks.
Add to that the fact that we let Senior citizens on the aforementioned golfing nirvana and surely we're doing the game of golf a great disservice. Add to that female golfers, blokes who wear white trousers, anyone under 87 who uses a buggy, anyone who wears a black glove, the Welsh, anyone who uses castle tees, anyone who uses TopFlite balls and changing your shoes in the car park and we are blackening the name of this great game.
So, I reckon us golfers are ruining golf. What say you???
