No idea what it is but not gonna hurt anyone as long as its left alone. Wait till you wake up face to face with a Camel Spider ? those things are freaking huge .....

Hopefully not. Please, please, please never kill a spider. Fascinating creatures, don't do any harm and part of the ecosystem.

Don't do any harm here involves stealing one of your legs and running off with it! That's assuming an Andalucian vulture hasn't carried you off.

The rules are printed out, and put on available surfaces. Spiders know the rules, if they read them. No spiders. Reveal yourself, and die. Quickly, but I can't guarantee painlessly.

So you feel threatened by a 1-2 inch 'monster'! Time for therapy! Spiders are fine by me - they gobble up far more 'bad' insects etc!

Threatened no, not too keen on things landing on me without introduction though! I blame sci-fi and horror movies.
I have handled a tarantula before so I don't have a phobia, also being a landscape gardener in Oz for a year certainly had it's moments with big arachnids, particularly Huntsmen which get hand size.
Is False widow a possibility here?
Rest assured it will not be harmed.

I have to admit.. that would very probably make me review my 'live and let live' attitude. I've actually been bitten by NZ's only 'poisonous' one (Katipo, a relation of Redback & Black Widow), but that hardly rates against any in Aus's 'league'!

I think hunstmen are harmless but I wasn't keen when they appeared in a bundle of stuff you are carrying, I did have to deal with Sydney funnelwebs regularly and whilst they're not big you wouldn't want a bite off one, supposed to be very toxic!
I can still recall my old boss's regualr warning of 'Watch 'em Funnies mate'.
