Anyone survived the snow

Fair enough, I too despise people who take the piss when working from home. Its great when used properly, but crap when abused.

Also having a 5 mile commute and being within 1/4 mile of work is pretty terrible. In my case I have a 50 mile commute each way, so staying at home is a bit more justified.

I used to work for a Publishing company in Carrbridge, which is about 25 miles from Inverness down the A9.

A couple of years ago there was about 4 foot of snow overnight. Everyone else lived in the village or no more that a mile out of town and I was the only member of staff that made it in and had to drive past 2 other members of staffs houses to get there.
:D

And you call yourself a salesman eh

Shouldn't you be out there scrapping that lot off? :p

Those cars don't look that bad to me! Surely they've still got a few miles left in them? ;)

I see your bastard boss os selling his wee runaround with private number plate (green Corsa)

Getting really worried now. We've had harbingers of doom on the local radio and TV saying the Thames Valley is destined for several inches over the last 48 hours and apart from a dusting yesterday morning, nowt, zip, nada, nothing.

Now I'm not gloating as I know a lot of you guys have got it bad and are really struggling but I'm worried as they say fresh snow for Surrey, London etc and no mention this time of the Thames Valley. I'm guessing I'll wake up to a white out and penguins on the car roof.

I cannot believe the amount of snow we have had down here overnight.
Went to bed at 10.30 last night, Sam called me into the dining room to look out over the back garden. Although it should have been pitch dark it was like late afternoon, a really eerie light. Never seen anything like it.
I haven't seen this much snow for donkeys years.
These were taken about 10 minutes ago...

Finally got about 5cms overnight. Main roads are fine but bit hairy getting from the close onto it. Trains only about 10 minutes late so can't complain. Just need it to come down heavy mid-afternoon for a nice early finish
