either of the courses the kernow or the nicklaus?

is there any holes to look out for? or a certain way to approach the courses? Normally a case of hit it and go find it but got a feeling i may need to be a bit more tactfull there??

Do they have a driving range to warm up or is it a short game range? just wondering if to take me practice bag with me.

Just been informed i have been brought an outfit and the word plas4 is flying around  Find out tomorrow for sure though

Ive played both, but I'm a girlie who plays off 17 so not sure how much help this will be.

Definitely buy a course planner - the Kernow has quite a few blind holes and a couple of the par 4 are driveable, so it would be useful to have a bit of an idea where you are going!
I'm afraid I can't remember about practice facilities. check out Crown website

There is a range with decent Srixon balls, but it's a few minutes walk up to it.
A practice chipping green and putting green as well.

I've only played the Nicklaus, but my advice is hit it straight!!

There's a few holes where you have to put the ball in the right place but it's pretty obvious from the tee (especially if you have a course planner) where that should be. The only blind shots I remember are the 1st (only want to hit about 200 just over the hill), 9th uphill dogleg right aim just left of the bunker at the top of the hill and 200-230, and I think the 13th where I just hit my 200 club where I thought the hole went.

I didn't score very well and loved it. Best holes imo are 2, 3, 5, 7, 10, 11, 12, 17 & 18, with the 12th being my favourite hole anywhere.

I guess this might be too late now if you've gone today. I hope you enjoy it! :)

Nah not too late will be there Sunday to Tuesday end of this week. Will prob get a planner though as you both recommend it. Hopefully have me approach watch by then which will be helpfull as no doubt I will be out of position a few times

Played the Nicklaus a few times. Tough track that can make any good golfer ponder the point of it all especially when the wind gets up.

Highlights of the course for me were the 1st, 7th and the stretch just after the front 9 of 10, 11 and 12. Some really nice holes all round and a great test of a game. You don't get away with many bad shots but I do feel the course suits a shorter hitter.

I sort of agree and disagree at the same time, even though I don't hit the ball as far as you.
A lot of the holes require a placed shot more than a boom off the tee, but it's much nicer (and easier to get right) to be hitting them with a long iron rather than needing driver still.

If your playing the Nicklaus course, if you don't have an electric trolley get a buggy.

I carried around it on a weeks golf break in cornwall. Was in bed by 9 crashed out :P

I carried the one time I've played there and wasn't too bad afterwards, but I wouldn't want to do it twice in one day, or 3 days running.

I noticed on a recent GM email that they've got a deal for selected dates in June & July. £89 for both courses and dinner, bed & breakfast.

I just wish I lived closer.

I played there the begging of this Month. Both are a fair test of Golf. The Nicklaus course is fairly tight and long. It is a lovely layout that has been laid out to test your tee shots and approaches. The 18th is a good hole, especially if the pin is cut at the back. We had a few single handicappers shooting in the high 90's but it was a bit windy so keeping the ball on the short stuff was a test.

Hotel was good, food very good, drinks a bit steep. £290 for three nights half board and golf was great value. Oh! and they do have a good driving range and Pro shop. Enjoy it.

I reckon the Kernow is several shots easier. The Nicklaus is MUCH tighter and punishes you if you go off line much at all. Definitely one to plan your shots and not automatically pull driver.

From memory, dont be left on the first hole. club up on the fifth or be right (lots of water to carry).Nicklaus course BTW. Enjoy, the best parkland I've played so far.
